CAMK2 Therapeutics Network: Funding Research, Advancing Care, and Supporting Our Global Community
Claudia Compagnucci is a research scientist at Ospedale Pediatrico Bambino Gesù in Rome, working in the Unit of Neuromuscular and Neurodegenerative Disorders and the Laboratory of Molecular Medicine within the Department of Neurosciences. She holds a PhD and focuses on understanding biological mechanisms that regulate neuronal development and function in health and disease. At Bambino Gesù, she serves as a principal investigator on research projects, including genetic studies and models of rare neurological conditions, and leads work on developing diagnostics and potential therapies for complex pediatric disorders.
Ospedale Pediatrico Bambino Gesù is a world-renowned children’s hospital and research centre located in Rome, Italy. It is one of the largest and most advanced paediatric hospitals in Europe, providing highly specialised medical care across a wide range of childhood illnesses and conditions while also conducting cutting-edge clinical and translational research.
In 2025, the CAMK2 Therapeutics Network provided two travel grants to support families participating in CAMK2 clinical research at Erasmus in Rotterdam, Netherlands. These grants helped offset travel and accommodation expenses that families would otherwise have had to cover, making it more feasible for them to access specialized care and contribute to vital research. Families interested in learning more about the ongoing CAMK2 studies at Erasmus can find additional details here. If your family is participating in CAMK2 clinical research at Erasmus and would like to apply for a travel grant, please contact info@CAMK2.org for application information.
